What is Dye-VL
Most people know IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) as a popular treatment for redness, veins, and sun damage. At Creekside Retreat in Toledo, we offer Alma’s Dye-VL, a next-generation IPL technology that delivers more precise, targeted results. Dye-VL uses a narrowband filter to specifically target redness, facial veins, rosacea, and pigmentation spots. This makes it more effective and safer than older, broad-spectrum IPL systems.
What does the treatment feel like?
Most patients describe Dye-VL as a quick “snap” or warm pulse of light. Discomfort is mild and brief, and no numbing is typically needed.
How long does it take?
Most sessions take 15–30 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated. A small area such as the nose or cheeks can be completed quickly, while full-face treatments may take closer to half an hour.
How many treatments do I need?
Many people notice improvement after just one session, but optimal results are usually achieved with a series of 2–4 treatments, spaced a few weeks apart.
Is there downtime?
Downtime is minimal. Some redness or slight swelling may appear for a few hours. Pigmented spots may temporarily darken before flaking off. You can usually return to normal activities right away.
How is this different from Alma ClearLift?
ClearLift is a non-ablative laser that stimulates collagen and improves fine lines, texture, and overall skin quality. Dye-VL is focused on color correction—removing redness, veins, and pigmentation. Many patients combine both for comprehensive skin rejuvenation.
